DMCA Copyright Policy
Creators deserve a say in how their work is used. If you believe material on this site reproduces your copyrighted work without permission, this page explains how to tell us.
1. Where we stand
Selling infringing material is not something we want to do. Should any product, image or other content on nortpolh.com infringe your copyright, send us a notice following the steps here. We handle notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), codified at 17 U.S.C. § 512.
2. What to put in your notice
Put it in writing and include all six items:
- A signature, physical or electronic, of the copyright owner or of someone authorized to act for them.
- Identification of your copyrighted work, or a representative list if several works are affected.
- Identification of the material on our site you say is infringing, with the URL of each page where it appears.
- How we can reach you: your full name plus mailing address, phone number and email.
- A good-faith statement from you that the use you are reporting has no authorization from the law, from the copyright owner or from the owner’s agent.
- Your confirmation that the notice’s contents are accurate, and your declaration under penalty of perjury that you hold the copyright or may act for whoever does.
3. Where to send it
Post: Nortpolh, Attn: Copyright Agent, 5630 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90019, United States. Email: [email protected], subject line “DMCA Notice”.
4. What we do next
A complete notice gets our review within 5 business days. If the material looks infringing, we take it off the site or block access to it, and we tell the person or business that supplied it, if there is one.
5. Counter-notices
Think material came down in error? You can reply with a counter-notice, which must contain:
- your name, address and telephone number;
- a physical or electronic signature from you;
- identification of the removed or disabled material and the place it appeared before removal;
- your sworn statement, under penalty of perjury, of a good-faith belief that a mistake or a misidentification caused the removal or disabling;
- your acceptance of the jurisdiction of the U.S. district court whose judicial district contains your address (for an address abroad, any judicial district in which Nortpolh may be found), and your agreement to accept service of process, whether it comes from the person who filed the original notice or from that person’s agent.
6. Repeat infringers
Where a party infringes repeatedly, its material comes down and we end the business relationship.
7. False claims
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, a person who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation, either claiming that material infringes or claiming that it was taken down by mistake or misidentification, may have to pay the resulting damages, with costs and attorneys’ fees included.
